The Technical Integration Engineer is responsible for driving the technical alignment of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) or Low Pressure Turbine for the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine programs, where MTU is a risk-revenue sharing partner, and design and manufacturing responsible. In addition, the engineer will support preparations for the upcoming NGSA program.
The Technical Integration Engineer works closely with and reports to MTU’s Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) Leader and coordinates key development activities. The position has high-level exposure to chief engineers at both MTU and Pratt & Whitney, discipline experts, and program management.
Requirements for this position include:
Essential Functions:
- Drive module development and field support activities of GTF post-certification activities, and pre-design support for NGSA.
- Ensure content of technical reviews meets requirements, and that Chiefs are satisfied with MTU’s technical position.
- Lead integration and closure of structural tasks; Safety Risk Assessments, rotor lifting, crack propagation and wear
- Provide oversight to Engineering Change (EC) activities, drive actions to closure, and ensure gates are passed
- Prepare presentation material and support Chiefs Meetings, CSMC or HSE reviews and Technical Reviews
- Lead special technical topics to closure; i.e. DIVE investigations, hardware event support, systems integration topics
- Coordinate risk assessment activities and ensure that risk mitigation steps are brought to closure
- Provide technical support and guidance to the team; act as a mentor to junior team members.
- Act as back-up for the CIPT lead and Deputy as required, backfill at meetings, etc.
- Work with Pratt & Whitney and MTU Munich colleagues on a regular basis, involving cultural intelligence and further strengthening of the P&W/MTU partnership

To be successful, a candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field
- 5-12+ years of related engineering experience
- 5 years of technical experience in management of high level technical challenges impacted systems and modules
- Demonstrated technical competence in related discipline
- Occasional travel required, domestic and international
- Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
