Reporting to the Powerplant Engineering Manager, the Powerplant Engineer II is responsible for the development, maintenance, distribution, and archival of technical documents required for gas turbine engine overhauls on customer aircraft fleets in support of the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine programs.
This role partners closely with Fleet Technical Managers to ensure technical documentation supports optimal management of Fleet Management Program (FMP) and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) contracts—balancing cost efficiency, engine reliability, and safety.
Essential Functions:
- Manage shop visits of engines under a variety of contract types including Fleet Management Programs, Fixed-Price Agreements and Maintenance Cost Guarantees to ensure cost targets are achieved while maintaining the highest level of flight safety
- Maintain active communication with Resident Center Managers, Fleet Manager, Field Service reps and global Powerplant Engineers to align on status of Work-in-Process (WIP) shop visits
- Manage routine shop visits and collaborate with regional teams on special investigations for fleet-wide or individual engine events
- Support and participate in shop-visit cost discussions; provide cost and technical insights to Fleet Managers and Engine Services Finance at Pratt & Whitney (P&W)
- Coordinate and oversee workscopes performed by approved external vendors
- Engage in continuous on-the-job learning to build technical proficiency, with mentorship and guidance from the PPE Technical Lead

Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 4-10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Sound understanding of engineering concepts, methods, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to drive tasks and deliverables to completion
- Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
- Occasional travel may be required
