Lean Manager ​

As a Lean Manager, you will work together with our partners in operational and administrative areas to shape the path to operational excellence. You will be a key driver in advancing the Lean mindset at MTU. You will support MTU’s operational and administrative functions with pragmatic, audience-appropriate concepts and methods—from identifying improvement potential through achieving their improvement goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implement MTU Shop floor and office management in close collaboration with MTU’s German Lean teams 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across operational and administrative teams, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall business performance. 
  • Deliver training, coaching, and hands-on facilitation in Lean leadership, process optimization, problem-solving, and continuous improvement tools. 
  • Present insights, progress, and recommendations to senior leaders and executive stakeholders, using data to influence decisions and drive alignment. 
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to redesign processes, eliminate non-value-added activities, and embed sustainable ways of working.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, industrial engineering and management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with a strong track record in change management, project management, and continuous improvement. 
  • Proven experience in Shopfloor Management and KPI Cascading  
  • Deep expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, process redesign, and operational excellence methodologies; PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Belt preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training sessions and workshops. 

  • Core Competencies

  • Advanced communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong partnerships across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, along with the presence and credibility to influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
  • Coaching certification or train-the-trainer credentials are preferred.
  • German language proficiency is a plus.
