Line Inspector (Position# MMAL-25019)

Reporting to the ARC Electrical Team Leader, the Line Inspector must meet the qualifications for their assignments and within thirty (30) calendar days of filling the position, must have successfully passed the Company’s applicable examination(s).
Typical Duties and Responsiblities:
In the roles and responsibilities as Line Inspector it is of importance to ensure that the objectives of the Accessory Department are met, through application of the following;
1. Reviews outgoing completed work to ensure:
- Serviceability of the product
- Correct identification (P/N and S/N) in shop documents.
- Teardown report is completed.
- Component was processed as per customer workscope.
- Applicable serviceable certification documents are completed. Authorized release Form One or internal certification tag (as applicable) attached to component.
- Check for any obvious damage or FOD
- Correct installation of safety wire/cable and other secondary locking features
- Correct Caps, plugs, and blanks are installed
- Provides the appropriate records to the technical records department.
2. Monitors the rejection of materials and co-ordinates with engineering for deviation/repair review.
3. Raise a COIN for Supplier Non Compliances and damaged parts investigation.
4. Prepare accessory list with true part number and serial numbers.
5. Remove build standard on O/V parts.
6. Create CS orders for purchase orders.
7. Receive components back from outside vendor and install build standard.
8. Perform visual inspection.
9. Send components to accessories if upgraded
10. Update applicable ARC Production Systems (ex: Fiori)
11. Tasks as assigned
- Take initiatives in identifying process improvements.
- Participate in the damaged parts investigation as required.
- Perform internal shop audits.
- Perform ongoing surveillance of the shop.
- Perform inspection.
- Review inspection findings / discrepant conditions with the type engineer and if required the QA Inspector. Participate in the decision making process for resolution of the inspection findings/discrepant condition.
- Ensure the required inspections, repairs and modifications have been completed.
- For Piece Part / Minor Assemblies, generate and complete the Transport Canada Form One:
- Generate a copy of the Transport Canada Form One for inclusion in the paperwork package.
- Submit paperwork package for storage.
- Attach required paperwork to parts and route for disposition.
12. Reporting Responsibilities and Expectations
- Communication to the Lead on daily status updates, requirements, and services and ensure Lead has information for shift hand-over to the next crew
- Communicate any discrepancies / concerns to the Lead / Team Leader
- Work with fellow Line Inspectors to ensure resources are distributed efficiently
Skills and Qualifications:
Must possess good knowledge of internal technical procedures, maintenance possibilities and maintenance programs.
Must possess ability to use test and measuring equipment.
Must possess the qualifications of a Component Mechanic and have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience.
Must hold certification capability for the Electrical Closed (MMAL) functional work area in which the inspection is required.
Must have the ability to ensure that approved standards of Quality Assurance are maintained.
- Line Inspectors must meet the qualifications for their assignments as set forth above and, within 6 months of filling the position, must have successfully passed the company's applicable examination(s).
NOTE: LINE INSPECTORS ARE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW STANDARD ROTATION. THOSE UNABLE TO DO WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION.
