MTU provides maintenance from targeted hospital visits to complete overhauls on over 30+ commercial aero engine and industrial gas turbine lines and has completed more than 18,000 shop visits for over 1,400 customers worldwide.  Within this Global network, MTU Maintenance Dallas provides hospital shop and on-site maintenance services.     

Process and Tool Engineer ​

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical oversight of engine assembly and disassembly processes, including tooling requirements and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and optimize innovative manufacturing processes, balancing technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and long-term stability.
  • Provide expert support to production teams during operational disruptions, implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Define specifications for tools and machinery, and manage their lifecycle to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Continuously improve work plans and integrate updates based on OEM data and engineering insights.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality and Powerplant Engineering to validate and document process alternatives.
  • Champion digitalization and automation initiatives to enhance engineering workflows and production capabilities.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, applying MTU quality methodologies to drive process excellence.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or process engineering within the civil aviation sector.
  • Familiarity with AI applications and RPA tools in industrial engineering contexts.
  • Hands-on project experience in automating assembly processes is desirable.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience working with international teams.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office & SAP required, CAD beneficial.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.
