Your Tasks:

  • Responsibility and leadership of the following engineering departments with a direct reporting line to the Director Operations Support (ZP)
    • Powerplant Engineering (3 managers, 30 indirect employes)
    • Configuration Control (1 manager, 9 indirect employes)
    • Inspection Engineering (1 manager, 4 indirect employes)
  • Recruitment and performance management of the powerplant engineering staff, including succession planning, discipline and promotion
  • Set up and monitoring of annual performance targets for all involved engineering disciplines
  • Ensuring awareness and compliance of employees with corporate policies and procedures as well as appropriate aviation standards
  • Coordination of training to ensure optimized multi-tasking with high level of technical proficiency
  • Definition and further development of technical standards, workscoping, WRB process, SB baseline creation and Shop Handling Guide
  • Realization of cost savings through inspection engineering reviews and salvation
  • Development and instruction of team members during daily Shop Floor Management (SFM) meetings and regular performance evaluations
  • Alignment and close collaboration with other senior managers across all functions to achieve overall company targets
  • Responsibility for guidance of the communication to OEM, other MTU locations and customers for technical support and experience sharing
  • Compilation of budget requirements in annual operational planning (HC, CAPEX)


Your Profile:

  • A Master Degree or higher in relevant engineering discipline
  • Over 5 years’ experience as powerplant engineer, and proven leadership capability
  • An established network to OEMs and other MTU MRO locations
  • Knowledgeable in usage of aircraft or aero-engine OEM documentation as well as EASA-FAA- and/or CAAC regulations
  • Teamwork spirit, high reliability, willingness to adapt to rules of intercultural working environment, capable of leading people, flexibility and organizational skills, capability of understanding the complete engine process, creativity and proactivity for process definition and solution finding; technical analyzation skills, customer oriented (internal, external); capability to wok under time pressure
  • Excellent English in reading, writing and speaking
