Senior Manager Production ​

Salary:  $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

The Senior Manager Production has overall responsibility for the management and administration of all engine module production process relevant tasks. Typical duties include the coordination of all functional activities required to provide the required production services within the MTU-Group as well as for external customers. In addition to guiding and supporting employees in the department, the Manager’s role is to provide expertise in supporting department and company goal achievement and to recommend and implement process improvements.

Your Tasks:

General duties:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the Production Centre to accomplish the goals identified for the department
  • Coordinate the MTU-C production activities with business strategies in order to improve MTU-C overall achievement
  • Coordinate the technical and procedural standards for test, repair and overhaul of engines modules
  • Maintain budget for department
  • Set, monitor and report  to the Director Production the KPIs for the Engine Module Shop; align department KPIs with goals & objectives on corporate and division level
  • Ensure audit awareness and compliance are to the appropriate aviation and MTU standards
  • Communicate and work with other managers to streamline the Production department's efforts with other areas, both as an internal customer and vendor
  • Coordinate training of department employees, both unionized and salary, to ensure multi-tasking is optimized to maintain a high level of proficiency and adherence to the Canadian Ministry of Transport Airworthiness Standards

Operational duties:

  • Coordinate, coach, monitor, supervise, and direct employees in functional work area (on a daily basis to achieve goals and targets in meeting internal and external customer expectations
  • Ensure that manufacturer processes are carried out per manual requirements of internal specifications
  • Co-ordinate the procurement, preparation, service and maintenance of all tools, machines and equipment necessary for the Production department, including the test cell
  • Ensures all products delivered are in accordance with approved and established standards and of the required quality and are within the cost guidelines to ensure profitability
  • Investigates, analyzes and documents damages including the instigation and control of any corrective measures necessary

Strategic duties:

  • Develops and implements the organization’s engine production strategy aligning the strategy with the company’s vision, values and organizational strategy
  • Researches and develops engine module production programs, policies, procedures and practices that are consistent with the safe, reliable and efficient repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and components
  • Develops effective business cases for capital expansion where needed and ensures they are economically justified
  • Implements process improvements, preventative and corrective measures as required
  • Liaise with Senior Managers to align operational standards and processes

Our Requirements:

  • MBA and 4-5 years experience in Operations or Engineering in production or maintenance environment
  • or  Bachelor/University degree in a Business/Engineering related area and >6 years experience in Operations or Engineering, preferable in production or maintenance environment
  • or any Aerospace trade or diploma combined with at least 5+ years in Operation Leadership experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Operation System Windows
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of SAP production specific functions/transactions
