Job Summary:
The Lead Auditor will report to the Quality Director. In this role, they will be responsible for the developing and maintaining of the MTU Dallas internal audit system, act as an internal/external auditor and host external customer and authority audits.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists with ensuring that maintenance and repair work meets the required standards set forth in the Repair Station Quality Manual.
- Assist in the coordination of functions of the Quality Department ensuring that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and repair station procedures.
- Development of the audit plan considering all normative or aviation law-related requirements.
- Preparation, execution, follow-up and evaluation of internal system/process audits as the responsible auditor.
- Preparation, support, follow-up and evaluation of external customer and authority audits.
- Evaluation of audit results, identification of improvement potentials, and development of implementation proposals. Continuous monitoring of the implementation and effectiveness of adjustments and preventive measures from internal and external audits.
- Ensure the conformity of the audit system with authority, customer and MTU requirements.
- Reporting on the status of audits, audit system and corrective actions.
- Participate in MTU Dallas internal and external projects, working groups and committees.
- Development of detailed process key figures and indicators for evaluation and improvement of processes.
- Independent planning and execution of demand-oriented training and qualification measures of internal auditors.
- Further development of the auditing system at the MTU Dallas site and participation in the development and coordination of auditing standards and activities within the MTU Group.
- Perform other duties as may be directed by the Quality Director.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on quality management or aviation management or a related field preferred.
- Training as a quality representative or quality management representative, as well as audit-specific qualifications through externally recognized courses in accordance with standards such as AS9001, AS9100, ASA-100, etc. required.
- 5+ years of professional experience required, preferably in quality management or engineering, as well as audit experience (technical and process knowledge for audits, process assessment, preferably in an aviation industry).
- In depth knowledge of regulatory structures and international aviation law (especially for maintenance organizations per FAA guidelines, 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 43, EASA Part 145 and other connected regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Technical and procedural knowledge of auditing and process evaluation. Audit experience in an aerospace industry preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and improve processes.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges.
- Knowledge of moderation and presentation techniques as well as project management.
- Independent execution of projects in the subject area
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and general technical data.
- Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be willing able to travel up to 25%
