Export Control/Compliance Officer

MTU Maintenance Dallas Inc. is looking for a Customs and Export Compliance Specialist. This role will address current gaps and exposure in compliance and export regulations and compliance process with regards to existing and future contracts (controlled goods, export license requirements for both material and data movements during operation and bid phase) as well as all current U.S. and EU export and compliance laws and regulations (e.g. sanctions, tariff classification and changes, customs, ITAR, CCL and EAR controlled goods, etc.).

YOUR TASKS

  • Set up and adaptation of current compliance process to ensure compliance with U.S. and EU Export Regulations
  • Analysis of changes of compliance requirements and initiation of required process changes
  • Ensures compliance with the U.S. export laws and regulations and all export approvals for MTU Maintenance Dallas organization
  • Ensure support of export control policies and procedures business-wide through training programs
  • Implements corrective actions related to IT resulting from audits or customer requests to ensure export compliance
  • Continuous review of licensing requirements for daily business
  • Integration/alignment within the MTU Global Export network and Liaison with US and EU export specialist
  • Provide customs consulting services regarding customs compliance, and current trade initiatives including blanket claims, duty recovery, national and advance ruling, audits, tariff classification, and drawback claims
  • Lead internal audits, internal investigations, corrective actions, communications, training, and implementation of export policies and procedure

YOUR PROFILE

  • College degree and experience with customs and export compliance
  • Knowledge of Department of State, ITAR and Department of Commerce, EAR preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, well-organized, highly motivated for high performance levels working independently.
  • Identifying, resolving, potential problems in a timely manner while working in a fast paced environment
