Manager Logistics and Purchasing â€‹

The Manager Logistics and Purchasing reports to Operations Director and oversees and manages the day to day logistics operation within the company, is responsible for export compliance and has disciplinary and professional responsibility for the areas/employees Purchasing, Incoming and outgoing goods.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and monitor the processes and procedures of the shipping, receiving and dispatch section
  • Establishment of an active inventory management system for proactive coverage of production material requirements
  • Manage and monitor the performance of parts purchasing, parts room operatives
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the logistics coordinator
  • Ensuring procurement of new and used parts for engine parts on the market
  • Contribute toward continuous improvement, risk mitigation and refining of export compliance program
  • Defining local and global strategic supplier strategies for material in accordance with program and customer requirements and the requirements from other MRO locations
  • Permanent, active observation of OEMs and competitors in the MRO market and active derivation of measures and adjustment of purchasing strategies
  • Carrying out price and value analyses of suppliers regarding general commercial, technical and qualitative requirements
  • Promotion of the active selection of (alternative) suppliers and substitution of parts and materials
  • Identification of new suppliers and their approval and transition to contractual relationships
  • Protection of agile supply chain performance including the regular review of supplier performance with respect to key performance indicators
  • Communication support during the annual forecast of quantities relating to material planning in the supplier network

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related role within materials management, logistics, procurement, or supply chain management is desired
  • Experienced in establishing organizations / teams & leadership
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, practices, and standards related to materials management and logistics operations
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, inventory management software, and logistics management platforms
  • Able to communicate & negotiate clearly in English
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary & international project teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize supply chain operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders
