Material Coordinator ​

As Material coordinator you are part of the Material Management, Purchasing and logistics department. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager Material Management. You are responsible for tracking the material availability and delivery deadlines to ensure engines project are built within the agreed turnaround time (TAT), according to customer demands. You will be closely working together with Purchasing, Account management, Engineering, Production planning & control, configuration management and logistics.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and interpret basic engine-module-parts MRO planning and Work scope information
  • Participating in work scope pre-induction meetings
  • Carrying out material pre-planning in SAP for individual engines and providing logistical support for the engine until handover to scheduling
  • Using SAP system to Track the material availability and delivery deadlines at each stage of engine shop visit for new, used and repair materials
  • Finding alternative material solutions in conjunction with Purchasing, Customer account management, Engineering, Production planning & control, configuration management and logistics
  • Perform material bookings, exchanges and other solutions in SAP so that material costs are correctly booked on the correct engine projects
  • Initiate and lead the Cycle2 meeting with all departments involved
  • Participation in project groups for the optimization of business processes

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Must have experience in an aerospace (MRO) environment Must have practical knowledge of aircraft or engine related parts, documentation, manuals and work processes
  • In-depth knowledge for the logistical assessment of engines regarding engine releases
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience and practical knowledge in material planning and handling systems, as well as in production planning processes
  • Must have ability to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing, including a professional telephone manner
  • Must possess the ability to analyze inventory requirements using Computer systems
  • Must have the ability to research and analyze procurement data and develop alternate internal material solutions
  • Must be solution driven in a fast-pacing work environment
  • Experience working with SAP is a plus Must be stress resistant
