Deputy Quality and Safety Manager (all genders)

We are currently seeking a full time Deputy Quality and Safety Manager (all genders) based at our MTU office in Canning Vale in Western Australia.

YOUR TASKS

  • The focal point for operational quality and safety
  • Facilitate audits by accreditation bodies
  • Manage the audit schedule
  • Carry out internal audits to ensure functioning QMS & SMS & ISO IMS
  • Raise corrective and follow-up actions as necessary for non-conformance
  • Carry out internal investigations and document findings where necessary
  • Carry out mandatory meetings and document meeting minutes
  • Carry out HSE inductions of new staff and internal regulatory training
  • Process change management initiatives
  • Amend documents in accordance with internal publication change request process
  • Act as the Quality and Safety Manager when the incumbent is unavailable
  • Ensure compliance with CASA Part 145 regulations
  • Ensure compliance with CASA Part 145 regulations
  • Ensure compliance with CASA Drug and management alcohol plan (DAMP) as the DAMP officer
  • Ensure compliance with ISO IMS (9001, 45001 and 14001) requirements

YOUR PROFILE

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years working in a CASA, EASA or FAA Part 145 AMO preferably in a quality or safety role  
  • Knowledge and familiarity with CASA Part 145 and Part 42 Regulations 
  • Experienced in carrying out internal audits and maintenance investigations 
  • Experienced in developing internal procedures and amending documents

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Diploma of Quality Auditing, Diploma in Aeroskills, or a relevant engineering degree
  • Lead Auditor (ISO19011 or equivalent) 

Desirable or must be willing and able to obtain 

  • Safety Management Systems (SMS) 
  • Human Factors 
  • ICAM Lead Investigator Training (BSBWHS515) 
  • Cert IV in WHS (BSB41419 or equivalent) 
  • CASA Form 4 Approval for Quality and Safety Manager 
  • Root Cause Analysis 

Skills: 

  • Fluent English communication skills across all levels of staff seniority 
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and MS Teams)

Other Criteria: 

  • Only candidates who have legal rights to live and work in Australia will be considered 
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a current ASIC card during entire duration of employment 
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to support business objectives 
  • Must be able to pass an initial employment drug and alcohol test and ongoing random drug and alcohol tests.
