MTU provides maintenance from targeted hospital visits to complete overhauls on over 30+ commercial aero engine and industrial gas turbine lines and has completed more than 18,000 shop visits for over 1,400 customers worldwide. Within this Global network, MTU Maintenance Dallas provides hospital shop and on-site maintenance services.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
The EHS Coordinator will report to the Safety Specialist. In this role, they will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, developing and implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, providing training, and investigating incidents to maintain a safe and healthy workplace and environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Stay up to date with all applicable federal, state, local and corporate environmental, health, safety and fire regulations and standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and other EHS-related activities.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Engage with employees and management to encourage safe behavior through safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Assist with the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Support MTU operations and staff to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as may be directed by the Safety Specialist.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and other safety regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, relevant web applications.
- Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (minimum)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (preferred)
- 1–3 yearsof experience in an environmental,
safety, health, role preferred
- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
