Business Analyst ​

Salary:  $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year

The Business Analyst is responsible for the regular reporting of information and relevant data to generate profitability analysis in the following areas:

  • Sales Support: Acts as the primary liaison between the Sales department, Customer Support department and internal production and logistics areas as it relates to cost estimates, cost monitoring, shop visit costs and fly-by-hour calculations. Typical duties relative to sales support include the development of  cost models and estimates in accordance with preliminary work scopes while interfacing with Customer Support, Engineering and Production areas for appropriate inputs based on technical analysis. Additional duties include reviewing of proposals, contract negotiation support and business case inputs and support.  Participate and assist in the contract proposal design and how it translates to the customer’s RFP.
  • Business Analysis: Duties may include implementing, maintaining, and managing financial oversight for individual projects, products or certain programs.  Additional duties include providing regular or ad-hoc reporting to internal departments, management, or customers.  This may also include supporting Customer Program Manager(s) with the cost transparency necessary to monitor financial performance on key contracts.
  • Business Support: Ability to communicate appropriately with customers directly and the ability to support new business opportunities are critical prerequisites.  Provide support to Manager, Strategy on Continuous Improvement projects as required to maximize profitability for the Accessory Program.

Your Tasks:

  • Creation, implementation, benchmarking and maintenance of the Cost Database and cost calculations.
  • Supporting Sales and Finance in developing the business case by the cost analysis.
  • Upholding MTU’s financial and cost accounting standards in all financial calculations
  • Updating MTU’s Price List and responding to ad-hoc pricing requests
  • Aligning and benchmarking other MTU facilities or third parties to implement “Best Practices”
  • Assisting in preparation of marketing presentations for customer visits, trade shows, executive visits, etc. 
  • Supporting major sales campaigns on site together with the responsible sales manager and occasional international travel (<15%)
  • Providing input, charts, and presentations as required for customer program reviews
  • Other duties as assigned but limited to in scope (e.g. perform Customer Account Manager functions)

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor/University degree in a Business-related area and minimum 5 years experience in financial or accounting roles, preferably in an aviation environment
  • or equivalent education with 10 years experience in Sales or Customer Support with a solid technical background and understanding of financial analysis, preferably in an aviation environment practicing lean principles.
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Operation System Windows 10 and 11
  • Advanced knowledge with MS Word and PowerPoint 365
  • Advanced knowledge on MS Excel including macro programming, V-lookup and pivot tables.
  • Intermediate knowledge with SAP Financial functions/transactions
