Airworthiness/Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Integrated Management System/IMS) ​

Job Summary:
The Airworthiness/Regulatory Compliance Specialist will report to the Quality Director. In this role, they will be responsible for developing, maintaining and adapting the Integrated Management System (IMS) modeling processes and ensuring compliance with the IMS.  

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assists with ensuring that maintenance and repair work meets the required standards set forth in the Repair Station Quality Manual.
  • Assist in the coordination of functions of the Quality Department ensuring that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and repair station procedures.
  • Development and maintaining the quality management system according to existing requirements, i.e. authorities, customer, ISO/AS standards, MTU corporate.
  • Process mapping, analysis and modelling of all MTU Dallas internal processes and documents, including support of process and interface optimizations initiated by departments.
  • Ensuring compliance and ongoing development of the MTU integrated management system.
  • Support in the preparation of the monthly IMS report in consultation with the management system responsible as part of the management review.
  • Coordination of the local MTU Dallas management system with the quality management system of other MTU Maintenance locations and standards.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of MTU's quality management in the context of external and internal requirements.
  • Selection of suitable quality management methods for the optimal evaluation, support, validation or improvement of technical and organizational processes.
  • Participate in MTU Dallas internal and external projects, working groups and committees.
  • Development of detailed process key figures and indicators for evaluation and improvement of processes.
  • Perform other duties as may be directed by the Quality Director.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on quality management or aviation management or a related field preferred.
  • Training as a quality representative or quality management representative, as well as audit-specific qualifications through externally recognized courses in accordance with standards such as AS9001, AS9100, ASA-100, etc. required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience maintaining an IMS required, preferably in quality or process management (technical and process knowledge for audits, process assessment, preferably in an aviation industry).
  • In depth knowledge of regulatory structures and international aviation law (especially for maintenance organizations per FAA guidelines, 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 43, EASA Part 145 and other connected regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Technical and procedural knowledge of auditing and process evaluation. Audit experience in an aerospace industry preferred. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and improve processes.
  • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges.
  • Knowledge of moderation and presentation techniques as well as project management.
  • Independent execution of projects in the subject area
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and general technical data.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.

Physical Requirments:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
